I am a recent retired Military officer with retirement merely months away. I have been doing therapy for 4 years. My theoretical orientation is Dialectical Behavior therapy. I also use Trauma Focused and Cognitive behavior therapy as evidenced based practice. I believe in meeting my client where he or she is currently on their path. Establishing skill sets, building rapport and accountability are some key ingredients used during therapy. I found that Rodric was very patient and understanding and really tried to give you the opportunity to explain everything about your situation before going forward with providing insight or advice. As someone who was trying therapy for the first time, I found this to be very encouraging and made me feel like I was not really rushed to get through the conversation. This was particularly helpful because, to me, the situation I was explaining had a lot of contributing factors and events so having the peace of mind to be able to relay all the information I felt was important was very helpful.
Within my few sessions with Rodric, we developed practices and tools that I could use to help improve my situation and help me grow from who I am into who I am trying to be. I plan to continue trying to use these tools moving forward and would highly recommend Rodric as someone to talk to for any sort of advice. I felt that Rodric provided objective yet mindful insight and really made me feel comfortable talking. I am usually someone that hardly ever talks about my internal thoughts with many people let alone someone I have never met but this was not the case with Rodric.
