I taught school in both the private and public sector in Ohio for over 30 years, but also enjoyed meeting the needs of parents and children in that time. I knew someday I would want to counsel full-time, as I thoroughly enjoyed Parent-Teacher Conferences. So in the process of teaching school I got a degree from Indiana University in Counseling, and eventually went full-time in the counseling realm. I am licensed in Ohio and Indiana, and have done extensive telehealth. With varied life experience, having my own home, my own business, my own wife, my own children, my own grandchildren, my own professions, and my own struggles, I learned that others could benefit from these. I value interaction with you as an opportunity to share not only what I have studied and what I have learned from my own life, but the mountains we can view together as we gaze on the summits around us. I use especially Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), principles from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and principles from Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients see their way ahead.
