I taught school in both the private and public sector in Ohio for over 30 years, but also enjoyed meeting the needs of parents and children in that time. I knew someday I would want to counsel full-time, as I thoroughly enjoyed Parent-Teacher Conferences. So in the process of teaching school I got a degree from Indiana University in Counseling, and eventually went full-time in the counseling realm. I am licensed in Ohio and Indiana, and have done extensive telehealth. With varied life experience, having my own home, my own business, my own wife, my own children, my own grandchildren, my own professions, and my own struggles, I learned that others could benefit from these. I value interaction with you as an opportunity to share not only what I have studied and what I have learned from my own life, but the mountains we can view together as we gaze on the summits around us. I use especially Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), principles from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and principles from Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients see their way ahead.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Roger Gasser. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I started therapy with Roger for this "little problem" I had. I figured I would have a few sessions with him, blame it all on my childhood, stress, the current state of the world, or whatever other excuse I could conjure up. To my surprise, that is not what happened at all. Roger recognized in me something that I was unable to see in myself. My "little problem" is an addiction to alcohol, and there is nothing little about it. He helped me realize how severe my situation is and that a few therapy sessions are not going to solve this. His compassion and kindness, mixed with a reality check, has given me the needed courage to take the next step towards recovery. I'm not sure if I would or could have done this without his involvement. He is very professional, honest, caring and has great insight. He always replied to my messages immediately, was prompt with our live sessions, and provided a lot of resources that helped me realize that I needed to seek a more intense program. I believe he is/was part of God's divine intervention at the perfect time. I entered an outpatient addiction program and am so very grateful to Roger his encouragement and support, and subsequently for the role he played in my early stage of recovery. I hope and pray to get to the point where I can return to this platform and have Roger as my therapist again.
He seems to have plenty of experience in how to help me and I love that he has the spiritual piece. I like that we pray every time. Not even my pastor did that when my wife and I met with him.
There’s biblical applications that are brought into the sessions and also the books recommended have already begun to change my life!!
Roger is a very resourceful and skilled counselor. He has a variety of extensive knowledge. Our sessions are very productive and meaningful for my purposes.
I am a mess and Roger has been patient, attentive, insightful, consistent and helpful.
Roger has been a saving grace for me. I was hesitant to try therapy, as a nurse this is something I have always preached to my patients, but never felt like therapy was even something to consider because "I didn't need it". When I found myself suddenly in crisis in light of a betrayal, I decided to give it a try. My faith in Jesus Christ has me convinced the Holy Spirit orchestrated Roger to be my therapist. Roger provided truth and wisdom to combat the lies I've attempted to believe about myself and my situation. He gave me an incredible amount of resources and tools to help get my feet back underneath me. I am eternally grateful for Roger and his Godly background to help me navigate an uncharted journey. Roger was nothing but respectful, intelligent, and supporting in my time of need. If you are considering giving therapy a try I strongly recommend Roger Gasser as your counselor!
