About me

Hello, my name is Roosevelt, a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Texas. I am also a National Certified Counselor. I earned my graduate degree in counseling in Texas, from Texas A&M University - Commence. Life can become increasingly overwhelming, especially during these unprecedented times through the COVID-19 pandemic. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, or couple and family struggles, I am here to help. You have taken the first brave step to help address your concerns and I am here to assist in lightening the burden you have been carrying. I have over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. I am proficient in working with various populations and with needs ranging from depression, anxiety, mood disorders, suicidal ideation, self-harm, family issues, and self improvement. Additionally, I have a background in working with children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and attachment based family and couples therapy, which are my primary practicing models.

My passion is helping people to continue to work toward their best self in all areas of their lives. As your counselor, I will work with you to create an individualized treatment plan, which includes identifying mental health symptoms, appropriate and accurate diagnoses, and work with you to create manageable and realistic goals throughout your treatment.

I’ve only been in therapy for a couple of weeks but even with the two sessions that I have with Roosevelt, he has helped me immensely. I feel seen and heard and more relaxed.

After speaking with Mr. Roosevelt a few times, I have to say that it made a very positive impact to my mental health. He helped me overcome a guilt I was harboring for years and uplifted me and my self worth with everything session. This was the 1st time I was seeking therapy and thankfully, it was a good experience . Thank you, Doc!

Roosevelt says things like they need to be heard. He routinely hits the nail on the head, and does so with all the love in the world. He knows when to listen and when to interject. I feel a shift in my self-understanding as the session goes by. Over all, I feel listened to and appreciated as I am and as I can be.
