My name is Rosalyn Patrice Dunn, but please call me "Patrice." I graduated from The Ohio State University in Health Education, then the University of North Texas in Counseling, and currently I am enrolled at Texas Tech University completing my PHD in Counselor Education. I have taught 4th-12th grade, been an middle school counselor, and now own and operate my private practice, Real Life Counseling (12 years). I work with individuals 12 and up that are concerned with anxiety, depression, AD(H)D, grief and loss, life transitions, parenting, relationships, and adjustment disorders.
My theoretical approach is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I believe that if I can help clients identify their thoughts and emotions they can learn the skills to change their behavior. It is my role to create an environment that is caring and comfortable. Our relationship will be based on trust, honesty, and commitment to helping my client live their best life.
I looking forward to assisting you on your journey.

My talks with Rosalyn have been beneficial to me keeping calm day to day and not stressing. She’s helped me to understand what I feel is normal and I have the ability to keep doing better. I noticed the change in myself and I want to continue working on myself with her help.
Great counselor, understands and doesn’t judge. Very responsive and perceptive.
Rosalyn understands exactly what I am going through. She gives me support and encourages me. At this point between God and Rosalyn I think they are leading me down the right road. The road is hard but I have full confidence in Rosalyn to help me through this and help show me a new path to a new life of happiness
She is so kind and really spoke like a friend would. She is also very knowledgeable and makes you feel heard/valid without excusing behaviors that are self sabotaging or destructive.
This is my first time with a therapist and I was nervous on discussing my issues. When we met via phone, I was surprised at how Ms. Patrice is down-to-earth. She's an incredibly patient and entertaining (I say something amusing and she rolls with it while still maintaining professionalism)! If you're a first-timer like me, I HIGHLY recommend Ms. Patrice. She'll walk with you through your issues that you'll believe that you're not in therapy but discussing serious problems with a friend... and that's a good ambiance to be in when dealing with issues. Ms. Patrice, thank you for restoring my confidence, allowing me to confide in you, and providing alternative solutions for me to try. Thank you, thank you!
Patrice (Rosalyn) asks the best questions to help me confront a fear and helps me see a way to solve it that isn't scary. The two things I have picked up the most from her are her cultural understanding and the accessible advice she gave me on social anxiety, iterating how altering my perception of myself can then contribute to my social confidence and ability to talk about what I know. She listens to the answers I give her on social anxiety and takes the portion of it where I talk about scenarios where I *do* feel comfortable, and paints social situations as if they're the same environment. It's a seamless and comforting approach to a process that otherwise seems scary.
Rosalyn is wonderful to talk to and helps calm and support me.
My experience has been fantastic. I came to Rosalyn with issues around depression and productivity issues, after just 5 sessions I was back to work and quite honestly didn’t even realize 3 weeks had gone by since I last spoke to her (because I’ve been so engaged with work). A month ago I was laying on my couch feeling sorry for myself, now I’m back to feeling like myself again. 100% would recommend working with her.
Rosalyn is very compassionate and listens well. She gives positive feedback and is very encouraging in pursuing your goal to change your life.
Since I’ve started talking to Rosalyn I have felt much better and it’s only been about two weeks but it’s definitely helping.
