Ross Meyer, LCSW
About me
Hello! I have a Master's degree in clinical social work and a Master's of Divinity, and about 25 years of experience in mental health and counseling.
Here is a bit of what you can expect if you receive therapy from me: I have an eclectic view of therapy. In any therapeutic relationship I try to build a foundation of unconditional positive regard coupled with a belief that EVERYONE has intrinsic worth and value. I believe it is helpful to explore how past experiences relate to current issues, but I also think it's important to identify and correct common thought distortions that harm relationships and feed dysfunctional feelings and behaviors in the here and now. I also believe in psycho-education: In other words I like to assign reading and listening material between sessions to increase therapeutic success. In addition, I am not against referring you to your medical doctor or psychiatrist for medication assistance if I think it can supplement our work in therapy. Finally, I have biblical knowledge and experience counseling in Christian settings, so if you would like our clinical sessions to include this type of spiritual orientation I can provide this as well.
So, this is what you can expect from therapy with me. In our therapeutic relationship you as the client are in control of deciding on the goals you want to achieve, and you are responsible to work hard towards those goals. For my part, I promise to provide you with encouragement and knowledge and skills based on my years of experience helping others, and I'm confident we can get a successful outcome.
I look forward to getting started working with you in your mental health recovery!

Working with Ross was great. He is very calm, a great listener and has great insights about things. I particularly liked the assignments I was given for me to work during the week , I was able to incorporate this to my daily living. He focused on my goals and we were able to meet them and will continue to improve with time because he provided the tools for me to do so. Highly recommend

I have appreciated Ross's kindness, positivity, and gift of active listening. This was my first counseling experience, and he made me feel comfortable and that my situation mattered and could be solved. Thank you Ross!

Ross is the best !! This is my first time in therapy.I was a bit apprehensive. But he made me feel so comfortable I forgot I was talking to a professional. He prays before each session and this sets the tone for the entire session. He’s very attentive and wise and easy going and just all round wonderful.

Ross Meyer is very attentive and and talks to me like a real human being and not just another face. He shows true compassion for my issues and actively helps me to learn ways to resolve them. I like that he doesn't this is the only answer, he gets you to think critically and guides you to discover the answers for yourself which leads to a great sense of accomplishment.
