Russell Montgomery, LPC
About me
I have grown up and lived in East Texas in Longview all my life. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in in Marriage and Family Counseling. I started my counseling career at Tarrant County MHMR in Fort Worth before moving back to East Texas to work with a local mental health facility for 17 years in multiple roles, including Caseworker, Program Manager, Therapist, and then Director of Crisis Services.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and also a supervisor of LPC interns. I address many issues including anxiety, depression, marriage conflict, grief/loss, suicidal ideations, communication, parenting skills, addiction, and personal growth. I like to create a comfortable counseling session where I can converse with the client to help them relax and ultimately get to the heart of the issues. I am practical in my approach to counseling. I want to help the individual create a realistic plan to work through the things that have them stuck.
I have been married to Keri for 25 years and we have three daughters. I enjoy reading biographies and history. And I love anything to do with the great sport of baseball.
