Hello my name is Ruthie Brooks. I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia.
I work with clients seeking help with stress management, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, anger management, low self-esteem, and substance abuse. I have over 15 years in the mental health profession.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in client-centered, reality therapy, and solution-focused and techniques and strategies.
We all have moments in life that we need guidance and support to get through life struggles. I will offer needed guidance and support without judgement. I will assist in empowering you with the skills, strategies, and resources to reach your goals and achieve an optimal level of functioning. The greatest form of courage and strength is making the first step and seeking assistance. I am willing to offer you that assistance by working with you to identify your needs, goals, and collaborating in development of an action plan to assist in the development of an improved level of functioning.
I will request that you identify your most significant stressors that you feel impair your day to day function. Your identification of the most prominent stressors that you are currently experiencing will ensure that we approach the stressors that results in causing you the most distress initially. Our work together will involve the use of strategies and techniques to alleviate identified symptoms. I look forward to building a positive, collaborative, and effective therapeutic relationship!

Ruthie is a wonderful counselor. She is a great listener and her feedback has helped me greatly in my journey of self healing. I highly recommend her :)
I have seen several therapists, counselors, hypnosis therapist, and have tried numerous methods to help with my depression; as well as various medications that I've never reacted to well. Nothing has ever helped long term. Ruthie has been amazing. She's challenged me in ways that are comfortable, yet still a challenge. The methods she uses actually makes me focus on key points and makes me to think of things in a perspective I hadn't considered before. This has been refreshing from the usual therapist sessions I've been to. I have confidence that I'm making progress this time around. Thank you Ruthie!
Ruthie has brought a significant impact to my mental health in just two short weeks. I found her to be understanding, kind, and a great listener. Together we discovered the root of many of my problems and developed the best strategies to move on. I would recommend Ruthie to anyone.
I think BetterHelp matched me well, with Ruthie as my counsellor. We have only been chatting for a couple of months but already I hardly recognise myself, I have made so many improvements in my life. It’s like I am getting the ‘real me’ back again. I don’t know how Ruthie does it, as she is very gentle, but it has worked very well for me so far.
I love Ruthie. She is gentle and lets me explore my issues as she guides me to understanding past traumas in order to move forward in my life.
I always feel like Ruthie listens to my concerns and is very empathetic. She responds to my messages very quickly, and is always there when I need advice.
She has been extremely helpful and nice and I really like talking to her
