Ryan Sargent

(MSEd., LPC)

About Me

I am licensed by the state of Ohio as a Professional Counselor, license number C.1400029, and hold a master's degree of science in education (MSEd.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Dayton. My counseling practice is limited to serving individual adults. My areas of competence are personal and social counseling, career, and educational counseling.

I approach the therapeutic process from a holistic, developmental stance considering the way we think, feel, and act. My basic philosophy is that we sometimes become "stuck" on our journey to fully develop our self, our relationships, and our lifestyle. At these times, it may be helpful to talk with a licensed professional. I assure you that my services will be rendered in a professional manner consistent with the accepted ethical standards. Please note that it is impossible to guarantee any specific result regarding your therapy or testing goals. However, together we will work to achieve the best possible results.

I am a military veteran and have specific training in military sensitivity and issues, and have three years of experience working with both those who have and have not served.

I would be honored if you chose me to work with you during this important time of your life.

Ryan is incredibly knowledgeable, relatable, personal, and thought provoking. He provides more than an immediate response to an issue or subject, he gives you the tools to better understand and handle whatever it is you are dealing with. He truly helps push you to be more successful in processing, understanding, and handling any situation life throws at you. I could not recommend anyone else more than Ryan Sargent.

I learned a lot from my work with Ryan, and would definitely recommend him as a counselor! This was my first experience with any kind of therapy, so I really wasn't sure what to expect, and wasn't entirely comfortable with the idea of opening up to a stranger. But Ryan put me at ease right away, and helped me navigate a very stressful time at work. He is a great listener, but also offered plenty of concrete ways to better manage periods of acute stress. I feel like I'm in a better position to weather a number of challenging things in my life now, thanks to Ryan's good advice and the work we've done here.
