Hello! My name is Sabrina Eads and I am a licensed professional counselor in Southeast Texas. I have worked in the mental health field for 8 years. I graduated from University of Houston--Clear Lake with a MS in Counseling in 2009. I have worked with all types of people. From those who have chronic severe psychosis to those who have mood disorders, to those who just want to help reduce their stress levels. I've had a very broad experience: groups, families, and individuals, as well as with children, adolescents, adults and seniors. My approach will depend upon the client and the problem that brings them to counseling, however I have historically preferred a mixture of cognitive behavioral counseling, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, and client-centered modalities. Cognitive behavioral therapy addresses thoughts and behaviors, and the feelings behind them. Once they are identified, we can create a new framework or a new set of thoughts/beliefs about the self and change behaviors that stem from those thoughts. Motivational interviewing can be helpful for those who are struggling to find direction in their lives. Solution-focused counseling is future-focused and examines patterns in clients' ways of solving problems that has not worked in order to build a new set of patterns that is more effective in solving problems. Client-centered is the most important piece of the puzzle because it helps by putting the client in the driver's seat, but if the client needs directions, the therapist can shift to a different modality to help with navigation, and then turn it back over to the client.

She is really understanding on a variety of issues. She's very sweet and down to earth.
I have only been working with Sabrina a few days but feel very confident in her abilities. She likes to take things in small steps and and explain the treatment plan she is using. She makes you feel that you are important and that there is hope in your situation.
Ms. Eads is very thorough, patient and thoughtful in her responses, and questions. I feel like we are already on the right track to my better control of panic attacks and anxiety disorder.
Sabrina has been wonderful, checking in regularly and offering help at my speed. I trust her expertise and kindness.
