Sam Jenkins

(MSW, MFA, LCSW)

About Me

I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker and have provided therapy and clinical supervision for over twenty-five years. My first career was in the theatre, and I carry that creativity into my therapeutic work. I enjoy working to help people move from focusing on problems to having a greater understanding and finding personal solutions. I specialized in working with life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, and relationships ( monogamous, same-sex, polyamorous, open, fetish, and non-traditional). I am open-minded, have education and experience in sexuality and enjoy working with all sexual orientations and genders. I am not particularly religious, but I am very spiritual and enjoy discussing spiritual issues.

Sam is heartfelt guy that listens to you and asks you directed questions to get you thinking if you aren't sure were to even start. I don't feel judged and appreciate his demeanor when he provides support.

Sam has been a wonderful help to me throughout my time working with him! He's the perfect counselor to help with me as I'm discovering who I am in the LGBTQ+ community and as I battle the challenges that I face in my day to day relationships with people and the anxiety that I deal with. He truly listens, remembers, and cares about how I'm doing and that is really wonderful to have through this service where I'm only ever meeting with him virtually. 15/10

He’s very patient, knowledgeable, and above all else understanding. I would definitely recommend anyone I knew to him. He offers a refreshing perspective and truly does his best to help you have the tools to help yourself. That’s is perhaps what I like about him the most. He promotes aproaches that have lasting positive effects.

Sam has been so helpful to me during a rough time in my life. He asks the right questions in a simple and straightforward way, and his questions have led me to many realizations that allowed me to see a new perspective on my situation. Talking through things with Sam has helped me become stronger and more present, and has made me very thankful that I decided to talk to someone about what I’m struggling with.

Sam is AMAZING!! He is accepting and open and a great listener and his messages are thoughtful and come quickly! He's very insightful and comes up with unique and creative solutions and helpful techniques. He's very easy to talk to and I feel comfortable talking with him about anything. I went through nearly a dozen counselors online before finding Sam and I'm glad I didn't stop trying because he is a unique, insightful and caring counselor!
