I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in North Carolina and have been practicing for 5 years. I have experience in serving adults in individual and couples counseling on issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, identity concerns, relationship issues, and career concerns.
I am predominantly relational in my approach with you, which means that it is important to me that you see the humanness in our relationship. I generally engage in warmth and understanding with you, though I may also challenge you--when appropriate--to try out new behaviors or exercises. My theoretical orientation integrates many theories and approaches and depends on your specific needs, but my approach is predominantly informed by Gestalt and Relational therapies, which help you to develop attunement to your mind and body in the moment and use that knowledge to foster meaningful, healthy relationships. I also integrate Cognitive Behavioral approaches through values exploration and mindfulness.
I imagine that it took at least a little bit of risk (but probably a lot) to make it to this point in your journey in seeking support. I genuinely believe that asking for help is a symbol of strength, and I know that we can work with that strength together to foster a more meaningful life for you. I know it may not feel like it right now, but I guarantee that you already have the answers within you to figure out what it is that you want to do next. My job is just to help you pull those answers out. I am here to do that if you so choose.
