About me

On life’s journey we are constantly growing and developing. Whether young or old, life is a journey that usually entail efforts of trying to understand divine will. We often question our purpose in life, especially during challenging times. To keep it real, in many cultures/communities, such as the African American (Black) community, we might have been taught to either “pray” about our situations, issues, and emotions or “suck it up and keep it moving.” This can create negative energies such as anxiety, depression, anger, guilt, and other mental health issues that need to be addressed in a healthy manner.

I can support you on your journey to combat these energies. My approach to counseling is eclectic, a mixture of therapeutic approaches in a safe space. Together, we will utilize mental health education to understand what might be going on, coping skills to manage emotions, and strategies to assist with moving forward on life's journey.

My name is Samantha Givens Stringer, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have worked with youths, adults, the elderly, veterans, church groups, and families as they struggled with conflicts, life transitions, mental health, and substance use related issues. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey to inner healing and bringing life back into the soul.

Samantha is a God send. She has honestly mad me more comfortable with opening up and expressing myself. She has taught me some coping skills to help me along my journey. It’s only been 3 months and I’ve felt like I’ve grown so much. My anxiety and depression aren’t as bad. I’m so thankful for her.
