I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's degree in Counseling from New York University. I have over 14 years of experience working with various populations including adults, couples, college students and children (ages 5-17). I have worked with clients with a wide range of issues such as goal setting, communication skills, marital concerns (married and pre-marital), family dynamics, women’s issues, depression, anxiety, bullying, grief and loss, divorce, social skills, anger management, self-esteem issues, cultural assimilation, parenting skills, academic/career concerns, and overall personal growth.
My therapeutic approach is based on the premise that our past, present situations, and future aspirations strongly influence our interactions with our environment. As we evolve and confront challenges, it is crucial to recognize our past, adapt to our present surroundings, and modify our perceptions and behavior so we may reach our full potential. My aim is to assist clients in exploring emotions and self- reflection, developing positive methods of communication, and enhancing the foundations that will support life-long relationships and improve the overall quality of life.
I believe in providing an open and supportive therapeutic relationship based on listening with compassion. I use an eclectic therapeutic approach (client-centered, cognitive behavioral, solution focused, etc.) that is tailored to the client’s specific needs. I provide flexible appointment times throughout the day including late evenings and weekends.
