About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and have been practicing therapy since 2011. I have experience working with teens, and adults who come to therapy for substance abuse, anxiety, depression, traumatic life events, and other issues that make it difficult to reach their goals. I am trained in several evidence-based approaches including motivational Interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, person-centered therapy, and mindfulness techniques.

My approach is warm and down-to-earth, and uses perspectives and tools from many styles of therapy so that I can tailor a unique approach together with you. I believe that therapy is an important opportunity in which to feel seen, heard, and validated, practice new skills for living, and deepen our insight into patterns of unhelpful thinking or doing. In my work, I strive to be clear, honest, and genuine as we learn about your reality in a manner that feels comfortable for you.

Sam is understanding and caring, and has been helpful during the times I've needed guidance the most. I always walked away feeling a bit better with myself, and much better than I started the session. He never makes you feel like just a number and provides time and patience during the sessions - I appreciated this the most.
