About me

My name is Sandra Sims Patterson, Ph.D. I am a Licensed Professional Psychologist in the State of Georgia. My experience in the mental health field expands over 30 years, beginning in Boston, Massachusetts and now in Atlanta, Georgia. My expertise with children and adolescents includes ADHD, behavioral adjustment, disruptive behaviors, anxiety, stress and depression. Work with adults focusses on life and vocational adjustment, stress, depression, trauma, and PTSD. In recent years, my training and expertise has expanded to the special needs and mental health challenges of military individuals and families. My therapeutic interventions are diverse and consider when diagnosis drives treatment or the reverse. Hence, there is a consideration for such therapies as Psychodynamic, Client-Centered, Cognitive-Based, Motivational Enhancement, and Mindfulness strategies. In each of these modalities an Ethical Decision-making Model is used to support clients’ strengths, values, and beliefs.
I look forward to working with you to support and enhance your overall health and well-being.
