About me

I have been a therapist for more than twenty-eight years. My work as a counselor includes a private practice where I work with victims of emotional, physical and sexual abuse and with people suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). I have also advised many couples and families who are struggling with relationship problems. My practice also spanned over twelve years as a crisis relief worker for Malheur County, where I work with people in dire grief, abuse, and life crises. I also worked in the prison system for more than twenty years. I use DBT and CBT, mindfulness therapy, as well as sensory treatment techniques that appeal to all the senses that are always affected when trauma, depression, and problems arise that motivate people to seek counseling.
I understand how difficult it can be for someone to seek advice, especially when they share difficulties in their life that have damaged their self-esteem and belief in themselves. I am a psychotherapist who believes in the strength and dignity of every person. I sincerely respect the people who are my clients. I am compassionate, listen well, and value everyone I have the privilege to work with.

When I signed up for BetterHelp I was not expecting to like the first therapist I was paired with. This was my first time going into therapy and I was always told to “shop around” for a therapist that fit with me. So when I first met Sandi, I was very pleased and surprised that she ended up being just the person I needed. I felt like I had an immediate connection with Sandi and that she just really understood me and my needs. She was so responsive through the text as well if I needed anything between our sessions. She is busy, but I still felt like she had a lot of options that fit my schedule. I would recommend Sandi for sure!

Incredibly understanding, the smartest therapist I’ve ever had, genuinely tries to help me think things through and get through it all.
