About me

Hello! My name is Sara and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Georgia. I have been working in the mental health field since 2010. I have worked with individuals experiencing a variety of issues including family conflict, depression and anxiety, stress-related issues, communication challenges, and self-esteem, to name a few.

My background is in parent education, career counseling, and disability issues. I believe that the whole person must be addressed in order to create change and that everyone can benefit from therapy. We are always learning and creating better versions of ourselves.

I would describe myself as down-to-earth and open-minded. I utilize person-centered therapeutic approaches and draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and various other modalities.

I look forward to helping you set and reach your mental health goals!

Finding a therapist that’s the right fit can be taxing and expensive. That’s why I feel so fortunate that I’ve had such a great experience with Sara! She’s genuine and knowledgeable of her craft. Her down to earth nature makes me feel totally comfortable and relaxed. She has mastered the balance of listening and guiding the conversation to be just what you need. Very thankful for Sara and BetterHelp!

I've been talking to Sara for about 3 months now and she has been such a big help. She's a great, active listener who is supportive and validating, and really pushes me to do the work. I know that I can message her throughout the week with any pressing concerns and she always gets back to me within a day. Our weekly chat sessions are both helpful for getting the thoughts out of my head that have been rattling around as well as helping me think of a goal or plan for the week ahead. I've made progress in these months that I know I couldn't have done alone so thank you Sara!

Sara Bolton has been such a great help to me, despite the online setting of the counseling; every time I receive messages and counseling from her, I feel like my voice is heard and that I'm gaining really good insight. There's a good overwhelming feeling of support in the way she composes her messages and I always look forward to hearing from her.

I'm normally not easily open to others but she's made opening up about more vulnerable topics easier~!
