I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois. I serve the Illinois Department of Corrections working with prison populations on a range of mental health issues, and have worked with adults that experience symptoms of severe mental illness, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, adjustment disorders, and self-esteem/self-perception issues. I also serve as a mental health professional for an inpatient hospital setting and an addictions recovery unit, where I perform assessments, create treatment plans, and provide group and individual therapy. As a counselor, my primary style is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, together we work to understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interwoven. I work to build a genuine relationship with you in order to provide a safe space for self discovery, to gain education, and to see yourself with greater clarity. Together we work to identify your specific challenges, and from there, build the tools that will help you succeed.

Sara is a great problem solver and she really listens.
Sara has helped me immensely with overcoming an addiction, and also with many other things. She is a skilled listener and is very effective at helping you help yourself. She is very intelligent and it is easy to trust what she says. I would strongly recommend her to anyone.
Sara has been a great person to turn when I am dealing with my anxiety issues. I tend to ramble a lot about my anxiety and she is great at pin-pointing trends or specific thoughts. She will offer appropriate solutions to help me address them.
