About me

Greetings! I applaud you for reaching out for counseling support. Having support while addressing challenging issues that affect our ability to reach our life goals can be indispensable. My role as therapist is to help you clarify your goals and support you in reaching them. We all have our own path in life and feel the most satisfied and happy when we are walking our path to the best of our ability. Sometimes that means clearing away the thorns of past trauma, finding our way through the fog of depression, or deciding which way to turn when we reach a fork in the road. I am here to walk beside you and encourage you as you take the first of many steps along your path. Therapy is a process, and your focus may change over time as we work together, and you feel more comfortable with sharing aspects of your life in session.

I hold a Masters degree in Counseling from Webster University, and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Indiana where I maintain my private practice. I am also a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in New Mexico, where I practiced in substance abuse and mental health assessment and treatment for homeless, low income and criminal justice-involved clients for over 12 years. I specialize in treating trauma and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I have specialized training in the treatment of insomnia. I have completed over 40 hours of continuing education in best practices for counseling military personnel and their family members. I utilize mindfulness practices and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) when a client is experiencing anxiety or depression.

I also hold a Masters degree in Religious Studies (focused on Christian Mysticism) and later trained in Druidry (a neo-pagan, Earth-oriented spiritual path) through the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids (OBOD), through which I mentored students of this spiritual path for ten years. I am open to exploring spiritual concerns and/or utilizing spirituality in the therapeutic process if the client wishes. I hold no religious biases and am open to clients practicing all forms of religion and spiritual practice.

I engaged in humanitarian efforts in Ghana, West Africa for four years, working in community development and medical outreach to underserved villages. This humbling experience further ingrained in me the values of compassion, being present and accepting others where they’re at. Since returning from Ghana in 2018, I have been in private practice in Indiana, serving clients with a wide variety of life challenges.

I consider myself a client-centered therapist and will thoughtfully consider everything you bring to the table about yourself and your needs.
