Sara Bauer, LPC
About me
Welcome and congrats on making the decision to seek therapy and create a more fulfilling life. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado with over 3 years of experience. Don’t let that number fool you though! I have experience working with a diverse range of clients in different clinical settings with a multitude of presenting issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, PTSD, borderline personality disorder, and addiction. I have experience in individual and group therapy and have worked in clinical settings such as inpatient/detox facilities, homeless shelters, and outpatient services.
My journey to get where I am today actually started around 2011 when I became a sexual assault prevention and response advocate while in the Air Force. In 2014, I changed my bachelor's program from Occupational Safety and Health to Human Services. I finished my bachelors and started my graduate program that next day leading to my graduation from Colorado Christian University in 2019 with a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
My approach to therapy is eclectic and draws on a variety of modalities to best serve a client’s needs and goals. The modalities I often utilize are: Adlerian Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Existential Therapy. I come from a humanistic, goal-oriented, and psychodynamic style that looks at the whole person. Each of us are unique individuals with different values, strengths, morals, and beliefs, and I walk alongside clients as they discover what makes them, them.
I have always had a heart to serve others. Receiving therapy can be a difficult process, but it is also incredibly rewarding. I look forward to walking alongside you in your journey.

Sara is a great therapist. She really has great thoughts and ideas about the issues you bring up. She has helped me work on how to deal with my narsasistic mother and is helping me find strong copping methods.

I’ve only had three sessions with Sara and they’ve been very helpful. She’s a good listener and she’s made it easy to communicate openly with her regarding my issues. I’ve needed that with a counselor and I appreciate it.
