About Me

I am a counselor licensed in Connecticut with experience working with adults and adolescents with a variety of needs and goals. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, substance use, trauma, and professional or career related issues. My goal is to support and empower my clients in deepening their insight into their current struggles so that we can work together to build skills and develop tools that will allow for confidence and success.

My approach to counseling style is attentive, interactive, and flexible. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I also believe that two of the biggest barriers to seeking help are transportation and stigma; I am excited to use an interactive platform of messaging and distance counseling to meet you where you are at. My counseling style includes cognitive-behavioral, motivational enhancement, and solution focused. This means that I offer specific tools and approaches to help you work towards your goals. We will work to better define your goals, and then I will support you in achieving them over a general period of time. It doesn't sound like it makes much sense at first, but my goal as a counselor is to get you to a place where you no longer need me and you have developed skills and confidence to tackle the issues at hand. I feel it is important that everything we do is driven by the client and their needs; I tailor my approach and interventions to best meet the needs of each individual.

My Availability:
I offer only live chat and phone sessions at this time. My availability for these live sessions may seem limited, but I am consistently available through the platform's messaging on Mondays through Saturdays. During these days, I will respond within 24 hours to your messages and I will respond thoughtfully. You will not get copy and paste responses from me because I work hard to offer you feedback to help you reflect and explore on your personal issues and goals.

I know it isn't always easy to ask for help; the hardest step is sometimes the first step. When you are ready, I am here and I look forward to working with you!

Sara is awesome, she is so professional and personable at the same time! She listens to and understands me and is able to put my feelings and experiences into words, pointing out themes and helping me to work through things. She is so validating and overall I’m glad to be working with her!
