About me

Hello! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida with 6 years of clinical experience. I have worked with children, adults, families, and couples in various treatment settings. I am open to working with both men and women, young, middle age and older adults, and people of all gender, race, and sexual orientations. My areas of specialization and interest include juvenile justice, parent-child relationship challenges, managing anxiety and depression, life transitions, family stressors, self-worth, and trauma.

My counseling style is warm and approachable. I believe in treating everyone with integrity and compassion. My therapeutic background includes but is not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy, mindfulness and empowerment, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and trauma informed practices. I am trained in trust based relational interventions (TBRI) and I am a nationally certified Functional Family Therapist (FFT).

I will meet you where you are at on your journey and use your natural strengths to guide your therapeutic process. There may be times of discomfort, joy, sadness, excitement, setbacks, breakthroughs, and everything in between- this is where growth happens. And I truly believe each person is capable of success- whatever that may look like for you.

I would be honored to encourage and support you along the way!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Sara Simpson. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Sara is great. She listens well and is able to make sense of what I talk with her about. Sometimes I can be all over the place with a million different emotions… so it is a skill to get me to focus and work through it. She gives different tools or exercises to help me deal with my stuff. I like that she can pull out recurring trends and she points them out to me, so I can see why or what leads me to the way I’m feeling. 100% recommend Sara and BetterHelp.

Things would be a lot different without Sara right now. I’m so grateful for her openness and willingness to meet me where I was at. We moved through some deep stuff pretty quickly but I always felt comfortable and safe and I never felt any pressure. I’m so grateful for the work we have done together and her support.

Sara is fantastic! She genuinely cares and listens to your needs. Sara keeps track of your progress and is good at asking the right questions to get to the root of the issues. She helped me to work through some serious childhood traumas I didn't know how to heal from on my own. Alongside Sara's advice from the sessions, I did the work on my end and have been able to graduate from therapy now. Therapy isn't a forever thing and Sara gave me the tools to overcome my past successfully. I feel more myself finally after 2 years of a rollercoaster of not feeling myself. I highly recommend Sara to anyone! 10/10

Sara is a fantastic therapist. She is an excellent listener and I never feel judged or looked down upon when I open up to her. She creates a comforting space where I feel completely safe. I am grateful I found her!
