About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker, licensed in North Carolina. I have over 17 years of experience in the mental health field, the last 6 years as a licensed therapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, trauma, motivation, self-confidence and self-esteem issues as well as OCD and ADHD. I particularly enjoy working with individuals to find the meaning in their struggle, as I am a big believer in post-traumatic growth! I am also a COVID survivor myself and have a unique perspective to offer many cannot. There can be purpose in our suffering if I can help others.

My approach focuses on the tenants of transparency, compassion and kindness. I believe in treating everyone with respect, and I like for my clients to help me understand what that means for them as we all define respect in different ways. My counseling style utilizes a solution-focused, client-centered approach and I also utilize cognitive behavior therapy as well as dialectical behavior therapy approaches. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

Seeking help for yourself is such a brave, important first step. I consider it an honor and a privilege to get to bear witness to another person's growth and transformation. I often say to clients, nothing changes if nothing changes, so I commend you for taking the first step to a new life!

I look forward to working with you!

Having Sarah as my counselor has blown away my expectations for what is possible through tele-counseling. Sarah is so open-hearted, kind, and dedicated to her clients' growth and success. Working with her feels so approachable, like she just "gets me" and we have a nice flow but she also challenges me and pushes me when we both know I need it. We've worked on a range of issues related to intense grief and also lgbtq+ issues. Sarah has helped me foster a sense of post-traumatic growth, and pull from my strengths to tend to and sustain my many different situations and issues. I couldn't recommend her enough. She is remarkable and I have had so many breakthroughs while working with her.

Sarah is the best therapist I’ve ever had. She’s thoughtful, she takes the tim to fully understand what I’m saying and she’s helped me think about my issues in ways I never have before. She’s just great all around!!

Sarah is guiding me through and very difficult moment in my life. Her guidance, wisdom and empathy have been invaluable. She helps me think clear and stay level headed - one of my two biggest struggles. Thank you, Sarah.

Sarah has been working with me for a few weeks and already I have complete trust in her ability to understand my issues and concerns and plan ways for us to tackle them together. I can already feel improvements in my day to day life from having her involved.
