About me

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Texas who specializes in helping people cope with childhood trauma and family of origin issues. My work emphasizes the client as the expert of their experiences and uses neurobiology and human development as guideposts. My work is based in Attachment Theory, meaning that our relationships and the ways our needs are met throughout development shape how we engage with the world. I believe in the power of an open and honest therapeutic relationship – my clients come as they are and know that their wants and needs will always be respected.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and Play Therapy interventions. Play Therapy may seem as if it’s only for children, but it offers the opportunity to process without always having to find the right words. I would be happy to talk with you more about what that could look like. However, I will always be respectful of my client's preferences and invite my clients to give feedback on what they do and do not want to do in therapy. My areas of expertise include abuse, neglect, foster/adopt issues, anger management, behavioral concerns, and family of origin issues including: young adult transitions, boundary setting, communication patterns, negative coping patterns and more.

Searching for the right therapist can be difficult, just starting a huge first step. I would be delighted to work with you and look forward to seeing all that you can accomplish.

She is extremely wise and definitely walking in her calling as a counselor. I am so thankful for this company and her.
With my busy life I am still able to connect and receive therapy with my assigned counselor through my cell phone instead of having to go into an office.

Sarah makes me feel extremely comfortable and at ease. it is not easy opening up about certain things but Sarah is clearly empathetic despite being behind a video screen. Her knowledge of and understanding of certain symptoms of mine have been very reassuring.
