About me

Hi, I'm Sarah. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 8 years experience working with adults and their families. I am also a mother of two. I believe that the relationship and trust between client and therapist is very important and part of the therapeutic process. I create a kind, warm, safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where people can talk freely about their life and their difficulties. I am a strong listener but my style of therapy also involves an interactive approach. I feel it is important for me to help give one new perspective to a situation or help you develop tools to address life's difficulties. This job is important to me because I believe that we are all in need of support and guidance at certain times in our lives. I feel privileged to be invited into someone's life and to have the opportunity to help them to feel empowered to overcome some of their own life's challenges. Seeking therapy can be a tremendous step to making changes and finding peace. I commend anyone who has taking that first step in asking for help.

I have worked with individuals coping with issues such as divorce, infertility, pre and post natal support, parenting, career or social challenges, family conflict, depression, and anxiety. I have extensive experience in grief, loss, coping with illness, and caregiver stress. I also have strong experience counseling older adults and helping them cope with common life challenges in their older life.

I strive to meet each client's unique needs by applying the therapeutic techniques suited to achieve the best outcome. My style and training is mostly a psychodynamic approach and my experience includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical (DBT). Everyone is different and I therefore feel it is important to build strong and trustful relationships with each client so that we may partner in finding strong solutions. It can take some support, kindness, and guidance to help us realize our strengths so that we may be successful and joyful.
