Sarah Franco

About Me

Hi! I am a licensed clinical social worker who has been working in the field for over 15 years. I graduated from graduate school in 2008 and have been a licensed clinician for over 7 years. I also supervised clinicians while they were working toward licensure for 3 years, teaching and mentoring them on how to be competent and well-rounded clinicians. Thus, I have had to stay up-to-date on the newest therapy trends and practices.
I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma resilient model and crisis management. I have worked with clients who suffer from anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders and substance addiction. I am particularly passionate about working with individuals who have to undergo organ transplants, as well as supporting caretakers of transplantees. I want to start where you are and give you some practical tools that you can use to help move you forward toward feeling better. I believe that therapy is a partnership. You are the captain of the ship and I will be your co-pilot. Together, we will navigate through the rough times and get you on the path to wellness.
My hope is that after each session, you will be able to have some kind of practical tool to take with you to work on in between sessions. Therapy can be challenging at times, but it can also be a lot of fun and very rewarding. I’m excited to begin working with you, and look forward to hearing from you.

I felt very scared to try out therapy to help my with my issues. I felt that I should be embarrassed or ashamed of my problems and this kept me from seeking help. Sarah has been an understanding and helpful counselor. She makes you feel welcome and safe to discuss any of the issues you are facing and her experience allows her to help you find solutions for you to overcome your issues. I would highly recommend giving Sarah a chance if you are considering a therapist or counselor. She will make you feel at ease and not uncomfortable talking openly about your struggles.

I feel very comfortable speaking to Sarah, which allows me to open more to her than others. She is very caring and understands my struggles and makes me feel like they aren’t as much of a burden.

I want to start off by giving a huge THANK YOU to Sarah. I have been debating for months possibly even a year to just start therapy. My hesitation has always been that I do not trust people that does not come easy for me. I had started with a different therapist and I appreciate the ability to switch therapist if needed and I feel that when I did switch therapist I was so lucky to have found Sarah Franco. I was able to work with her for a full week and in that week she was able to give me many tools to have in my arsenal to prevent a lot of my anxiety. She made me feel very safe and trustworthy from the moment we started speaking. She took the time to actually not only listen but really hear what I was saying. She use that information to help we began the process of understanding what therapy can do for me and how I can use it to benefit my life. I come from the old school of what happens in your home stays in your home and when situations arise it's just get over it and move on. However that stopped working for me years ago so I was very grateful to have found Sarah. I would recommend her to anyone. if you're looking for someone who has compassion and is able to take the time and truly focus on you and show you how important you really are Sarah is the perfect therapist for you my only regret is that due to financial hardship I cannot continue further with her at this moment in time but as soon as I am able to I will be right back at it. So again thank you so very much Sarah. And I truly look forward to when we speak again!!!!
