About Me

Hello, my name is Sarah Isaack and I am a therapist living in Gillette, Wyoming. I would like to provide you with some information about myself so you can determine if I am a good fit for your individual counseling needs. I have three dog fur babies Pandora, Remy, and Sam. I enjoy reading, walking in nature, and gardening. I also enjoy helping others help themselves.

I have been both a substance and mental health therapist for over five years and have a degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I have vast experience working with a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders as well as schizophrenia. I have worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. I have also worked in a variety of settings ranging from outpatient therapy, Day Treatment, and residential services.

My passion is mental health counseling and helping people to become the best version of themselves. I believe individuals should be in control of their sessions and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. I can only imagine how uncomfortable it must be to self-disclose to a stranger and I’m happy you have decided to seek counseling. I understand what it is like to look for a counselor for the first time and the fear of opening up to a stranger. I have personal experience with counseling and can relate to fears associated with the counseling experience.

I have a strong theoretical counseling orientation with Person-Centered therapy which focuses on creating a safe and nonjudgmental environment. I am also a big fan of Solution-Focused therapy which focuses on helping individuals create meaningful life goals. At times I will use Existentialism which focuses on the meaning of life. Although I have a preference for certain theoretical orientations, overall, I prefer to use an eclectic approach which utilize treatments from different theoretical orientations to create individualized treatment plans specific to each individual.

I tend to have a gentle style of confronting others unless individuals prefer a blunter approach. Although I am fairly reserved and a major introvert, I am passionate about helping others and believe empathy is the key to a great relationship with a therapist. I do believe in challenging individuals but will never push someone past their limits and capabilities. I am looking forward to working with you and hope you will enjoy working with me!
