About Me

A warm hello and congrats on taking some steps toward finding support today. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with roughly 13 years of experience working in the Metro Boston area with adults with major mental illnesses, addiction challenges and trauma. I received my undergraduate education in Psychology and Human Services from Boston University and my Masters Degree in Social Work from Bridgewater State University. Much of my work has been with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances. I believe in the power of self-compassion, mindfulness and personal recovery. My passion lies in helping all people- regardless of race, religion, age, socioeconomic status, gender, sexual orientation or political affiliation- become more empowered to heal themselves through the therapeutic process. My treatment approach is one of joining together to cultivate healing and empowerment while navigating the challenging waters of our current world. I have particular interest and openness to working with those who struggle with depression, addiction, trauma and lgbtq-related issues. However, all reasons for seeking support and counseling are valid and warmly welcomed. It can be challenging to find the right therapist and that connection is the most important piece.
One of the most essential things to me as a therapist is that you have a strong voice in your own therapeutic process. While I may offer some techniques, strategies and insights, I will also rely on your feedback and preferences along the way to shape our work. I believe that the more you learn about yourself and engage in the process of self- discovery with compassion, the more you will feel empowered to create the life you want. I would be honored to help you on that journey. All the best!

Sarah gathers information on the best way to work with you on getting emotionally stronger. I like that she doesn’t use text book therapy statements and methods. Sarah genuinely learns what motivates your mental health and safety, and tailors therapy into more of a coaching experience. I like that she’s a sounding board when needed, but then uses what she’s learned about me to offer me healthy coping skills as struggles present themselves.
