About Me
Hi there,
I am a licensed professional counselor and licensed alcohol and drug counselor based out of the state of Connecticut with over 5 years of experience practicing in the field. I have worked with clients with a wide array of concerns including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, addiction, grief/loss, and significant life changes. I am also well-versed in LGBTQ+ issues, exploring spirituality, and struggles with chronic illnesses/disabilities.
As someone with a very personal experience to many of these struggles listed, my style of counseling is very empathetic and interactive. My approach is primarily made up of person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques. Depending on your unique situation, I will be sure to tailor our time spent together to meet your needs.
I am a major advocate for eliminating any stigma surrounding mental health and/or addiction. There is no shame in seeking help - but in fact, it is an act of courage. If you are looking for someone that is empathetic, understanding, motivating, relatable in many areas, and empowering - please reach out to me. I know what it’s like to struggle profoundly with your mental health, and I want you to know there is always hope in any given situation. Therapy can feel uncomfortable at first, and therefore I believe it's important to establish a strong client/therapist rapport to make significant progress. I hope to provide you with feedback, guidance, support and understanding through this process.
Aside from the love I have for my career and helping others recognize their full potential - I also enjoy traveling, hiking, sports, spending time with others, meditating, and learning/growing each day.
I look forward to hearing from you so we can begin this journey together!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Sarah Scott. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Sarah was an incredible therapist. She listened and cared deeply about what I’m going through. Unfortunately she is moving into private practice and is leaving better help, but I was very fortunate for my time with her. I’m going to miss Sarah but wish her the best of luck with her future endeavors!
Sarah has been a fantastic therapist. She is more than accommodating on scheduling, she responses to my messages quickly. In session she really seems to understand my issues and does an amazing job of giving me reframing techniques. Her style really works for me! She is also super genuine, remembers things i even said from my first session. I’d strongly recommend Sarah!
I think Sarah is amazing. She is friendly, encouraging, challenges me for greatness in the most graceful way, and provides great ways to understand and process what I am experiencing.
Sarah understood how I was feeling even before I could really verbalize it. She makes me feel heard.
Sarah is a good sounding board and offers good advice.
