About me

Welcome, I am glad you are here.

My approach to therapy is relational, curious and empathic. I hope to support you with whatever challenges you may be struggling with. Together we can explore ways to help you better manage the difficulties of living a human life.

I have worked in healthcare for over 25 years both as a nurse and a licensed professional counselor. I received my Masters in Counseling from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2004. I have experience working in a variety of mental and physical healthcare settings. I understand the complexities related to managing both mental and physical health. I believe healing takes place in the mind, body and soul.

Please note I do not provide crisis counseling and not always available to return messages in a timely manner. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency please call 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline or your local emergency room or mental health crisis center.

"The Summer Day"

Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean—
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down—
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don't know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?

Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

—Mary Oliver

I look forward to providing you an open and welcoming space where you can be your authentic self.

Sarah, (She, Her and Hers)

Sarah has been absolutely wonderful. She does a great job of making me feel comfortable with what I am sharing and what I am feeling. I have tried seeking help like this before and find that I can talk to her much easier than in previous experiences. Every session I leave feeling so glad that I am taking this step. I am very grateful to have been paired with her.
