Sarresa Thorson , LCSW
About me
My name is Sarresa Thorson and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Oklahoma and Texas. I have been practicing in the clinical social work field for 3 years and involved in the helping community for over 11 years. I graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio with a Master in Social Work. I have worked with different populations to include adults, military members, families, teenagers, and adults. My experience includes working with individuals and families with anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues, depression, and life transitions.
Each counseling relationship is different and we will work together to identify what is important to you and how to improve your current living situation. I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, client-centered therapy, strength-based approaches, and solution-focused techniques. I believe that the true work in counseling occurs outside of our time together and it is important that you have an opportunity to practice the concepts we discuss; there will be homework. I look forward to getting to know you while we journey together to meet your needs.
Also experienced in:
Grief, Communication difficulties in romantic/familial/work relationships , Trauma and abuse, and Parenting issues

What can I say about Sarresa that won’t take a long novel to say? I don’t want to wax poetics but I’ll say she heard me and everything she said to me reflects the integrity and commitment she has to her clients and her profession. She has time and time again equipped me with the tools to navigate this mess we call life. I can’t thank her enough for that.
