About Me
My name is Sarresa Thorson and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Texas. I have been practicing in the clinical social work field for 2 years and involved in the helping community for over 10 years. I graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio with a Master in Social Work. I have worked with different populations to include adults, military members, families, teenagers, and adults. My experience includes working with individuals and families with anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues, depression, and life transitions.
Each counseling relationship is different and we will work together to identify what is important to you and how to improve your current living situation. I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused techniques, family systems, client-centered therapy, strength-based approaches, and solution focused techniques. I believe that the true work in counseling occurs outside of our time together and it is important that you have an opportunity to practice the concepts we discuss; there will be homework. I look forward to getting to know you while we journey together to meet your needs.

Reviews
Sarresa is an absolutely wonderful therapist. I have been with her for a few weeks now and she is consistent, reliable, understanding, and kind. I feel that I can trust her and can talk about the most difficult things in my life. I like most that she always has input and a few pointers for me to try with whatever issue I'm having. I also appreciate that she truly goes at my own pace and makes it clear that I don't have to push myself further than I feel comfortable. She is great! Thank you!
In just a few sessions, Serresa has provided me with actionable steps and tools that have helped me to see more clearly an underlying issue that is affecting multiple aspects of my life. I explained that I felt a bit alone in dealing with it, and she provided me with resources to help me engage in a dialogue with others who are experiencing the same issue. I appreciate Sarresa's responsiveness and thoughtful questions. I'm looking forward to our next session.
Really sweet & patient!
