I am Seneca Williams, MA (Masters in Mental Health Counseling) I specialize in career development, life balance, relationships, parenting. My clinical orientation is cognitive behavioral therapy, because it is evidence based and my clients have gotten excellent results.

Seneca has helped me in so many ways. When I lost my mother she taught me how to deal with my grief. When my anxiety got the best of me she talked me down and helped me find my inner peace. When my depression was so over whelming and all I did was sleep and I hide myself from the world she taught me wake up and embrace the world and those around me and that there was plenty of life to live. She motivated me to change, to live my life, and take things day by day. We can't change the past but we can embrace our future.

1. How did you feel when you started?
I had just moved back "home" after living out of state for a couple of years (due to work). I found that I had changed in many ways and I couldn't find my way around my old circle of friends nor could I feel comfortable around my close relatives and environment. Transitioning back into an environment I had been in for over a decade was very hard. Isolation, desperation, hurt, pain, rejection, judgement. These were all feelings I was battling after I came back. On top, work was busy, commuting was hard, adjusting to the weather was a pain. It was all too much!
2. How did I help you?
After a second match with Better Help, I got to work with Seneca. Her calm demeanor was the first thing that got me off the ledge, so to speak. Seneca helped me work on my issues one at the time, and helped me work through trigger situations, dealing with the root problems, and unloading repressed feelings and old baggage. Seneca always checked on me when I'd get quiet, and she made me realized how important self care is for a healthier state of mind.
3. How do you feel now?
I'm fostering the "chill" and my inner happy self, so I'm all good! I am feeling lighter, and have an overall contentment about life. These are innate feelings that get lost in the shuffle when certain issues come up. But I have support and tools Seneca provided to navigate these issues. I'm enjoying living, as cheesy as it sounds.

I really enjoyed working with her. When I first started using BetterHelp, I was assigned a counselor that didn't seem to be addressing the right points for me and was reassigned to Seneca. She took time to listen and address my concerns. I was at a job I didnt like, was not respected, working long hours, struggling to figure out what I wanted to do in my career and she helped me to cope with the stress. During our time together, I changed jobs into a company that better fits my priorities. The start at the new company was a bit rocky as I wasnt sure I made the right decision, but she helped me build confidence and see things in a different light. I'm much happier in a place I am now and am able to see and set clear direction and goals for myself.
