About me

Mission:
As a therapist it is my role to help you identify and implement strategies to achieve your goals. Through ongoing discussion I will help you formulate a vivid understanding of the complexities of your life and work with you to find solutions to challenges you are experiencing.

Experience:
For over ten years I have been working in a variety of human service fields. I have provided HIV/AIDS testing and counseling for the LGBTQ community. I provided early intervention to families with children who have physical and developmental delays. I assisted in community development in low income areas in Pondicherry, India and Negril, Jamaica. I have worked in homeless shelters providing psychotherapy and drug counseling for adults. I provided crisis intervention for individuals experiencing suicidality at a hospital in the Bronx. For the past five years I have dedicated my energy towards improving my skills as a psychotherapist at two different clinics in NYC where I work with teens and adults. It has been an honor to work with all the individuals and families throughout my career.

Education:
I obtained my undergraduate degrees in Psychology and in Family and Human Services from the University of Oregon. After completing undergrad school I moved to New York and I obtained my masters in Social Work from Columbia University.

Credentials:
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker which is often referred to as an LCSW. An LCSW works in a wide variety of settings to provide emotional support, mental health evaluations, therapy and case management services to people experiencing psychological, emotional, medical, social and/or familial challenges.

Seth has a great understanding of what I am going through. To me he’s more than a therapist, he’s my life coach. And when I have my weekly sessions with him, it feels like I’m talking to a friend. But what I love most about Seth is that he’s not making me a new and improved person. He’s giving me the tools I need to show myself that I already have the courage, the wisdom, the strength, and perseverance within me already, it’s just that because of my mental health issues I never knew it. I also learned through Seth that therapy is not the magic wand that solves my problems. It’s a teamwork between us that we each do our part.

Seth is amazing at what he does, he’s honest and listens to every detail. Super relatable! It saddens me to go but it’s due to my personal budget. Hopefully in the future I can come back!
