I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist, in the state of Wisconsin and I have been in the field of counseling for 17 years now working as a licensed mental health and substance abuse psychotherapist. I hold a Masters degree (MS) in Community Psychology and a Bachelors degree (BS) in Human Services. I am also certified as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional and a Certified Clinical Telemental Health Professional. I love my career choices more and more each day and I have worked with clients of all ages that deal with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, parenting problems, life changes, stress and anger issues. I also have experience in helping clients with grief issues, behavioral issues and working with trauma victims.
I would call my style of counseling as friendly, compassionate and heartfelt. I believe in treating everyone on the same level of respect and compassion, and I don't hold any biases to my clients or their situations. My therapy approach combines a sense of Reality Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Therapy. I am very familiar with many different therapy styles and approaches and I can assure you that I will be able to tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
I have a real passion for helping others overcome their personal struggles. I believe that everyone has a destiny and with a little guidance, I can help oversee your future endeavors. My philosophy is, Mental health is the biggest investment a person can make for themselves. And as people, we need to be able to recognize the things you can control and the things you can't control. Always think positive and believe in yourself, and live life to the fullest and know that your happiness is in your hands and in no one else. The overall journey to wellness is just as significant as wellness itself is. I like to treat my clients as a whole and allow them to actively engage, invest and take priority in their lives, just as much as I will. As your counselor, I will do my best to help you find your inner best.
