I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist, in the state of Wisconsin and I have been in the field of counseling for 15 years now working as a licensed mental health and substance abuse psychotherapist. I hold a Masters degree (MS) in Community Psychology and a Bachelors degree (BS) in Human Services. I love my career choices more and more each day and I have worked with clients of all ages that deal with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, stress and anger issues. I also have experience in helping clients with grief issues, behavioral issues and working with trauma victims.
I would call my style of counseling as friendly, compassionate and heartfelt. I believe in treating everyone on the same level of respect and compassion, and I don't hold any biases to my clients or their situations. My therapy approach combines a sense of Reality Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Therapy. I am very familiar with many different therapy styles and approaches and I can assure you that I will be able to tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
I have a real passion for helping others overcome their personal struggles. I believe that everyone has a destiny and with a little guidance, I can help oversee your future endeavors. My philosophy is, Mental health is the biggest investment a person can make for themselves. And as people, we need to be able to recognize the things you can control and the things you can't control. Always think positive and believe in yourself, and live life to the fullest and know that your happiness is in your hands and in no one else. The overall journey to wellness is just as significant as wellness itself is. I like to treat my clients as a whole and allow them to actively engage, invest and take priority in their lives, just as much as I will. As your counselor, I will do my best to help you find your inner best.
I look forward to meeting and working with you.

She’s always kind and while she doesn’t always say what you want to hear, she says what you need to hear. Though at times I don’t know if she fully understands the problem. That’s my fault for how I explain it though.
Shakina is amazing and listens to your needs provides knowledge respect advice but also challenges you and sympathizes with you. She is great I would highly recommend her!
Dr. Robinson is the first therapist I've connected with in over a decade - and not for a lack of trying. She's down to earth, easy to talk to, and comforting. She listens to what I deal with and what I do when my issues and feelings get the best of me, without harsh judgment, and frankly that's huge and seems to be rare, at least it has been out of the prior therapists I've tried to connect with over the years. I highly recommend her and am thankful I met her through BetterHelp.
I feel like Shakina really hears me. She doesn’t just listen to respond, she listens to help. I feel supported by her. She reminds me of the good things and the progress I’ve made. She’s very easy to talk to.
Shakina has been very supportive and understanding of my mental health needs. She listens to me and offers solutions to help my situation. I would definitely recommend her to anyone wants to work through their anxiety, relationship issues (romantic or family), and stress from life changes.
Shakina has been someone who responds to me messages in a timely manner and she respects me as a person and makes me feel that I deserve a good life and my life is worth being here. Although, I am struggling with a few things, she listens, offers suggestions of what may help and genuinely seems to care. I tried another therapist here and did not feel a connection like I do with Shakina. Thank you for listening to me, not judging me, and truly making me feel you care about me as a person who matters. Maybe not to her specifically but to my family, friends, and most of all my children. Thank you for wanting to help me.
Shaking is great! I have been solely writing to her and she is able to get what I am sharing and provide what I need to hear, whether I want to or not.
Dr. Robinson is great in her line of work. I was not sure if I would be able to gain the same benefits being online or messaging but I am able to see her personality and her intentions are pure. I am thankful to have the opportunity to work with her. (Personable, honest, and she educates clients about mental health and any other questions/concerns)
Shakina is very helpful and supportive. I am glad that I chose her.
Shakina is a great listener. She truely cares for her clients.
Shakina Robinson is amazing, on top of everything. I couldn't be happier with a counselor. I would recommend her to any of my friends of interest.
Shakina has helped me through very tough times, with excellent, practical advice on how to stop fearing life, and start enjoying it. I will never regret the time I've spent talking to her here.
Shakina has been a great help to me, and I've been really appreciating her help and advice! She really cares about the folks that she talks to, and understands how to help them.
