I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in Indiana, Kentucky, and Florida with 9 years of experience working in a variety of positions including addictions counselor, inpatient social worker, and outpatient therapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, addiction, life transitions, and self esteem issues. I have also helped many people who have experienced trauma, both chronic and acute.
My counseling style is compassionate and goal-oriented. I believe everyone is as unique as their finger print, with a set of life experiences, physical makeup, and social dynamics that are completely one-of-a-kind and all deserving of respect and understanding. So I tend to not stick to one technique, but rather pull from a variety that best fits the individual needs and desires including cognitive behavioral, solutions focused, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy. I want to meet you where you are at and work together on solutions because we all need help at one point or another!
It it wonderful that you have taken the first step because it is not an easy one and you should be proud! Whenever you are ready, I would love to partner along side you and navigate whatever situation you are going through with kindness and determination.
I look forward to working with you!

I'm thankful for the small amount of time I worked with Shannon. She was insightful and made sure I understood that she heard me.
Shannon is absolutely wonderful. I always feel like I’m talking to one of my girl friends. I never feel like she’s judging me or thinks I’m doing something wrong. She is always just there to support me in whatever I choose to do while also providing guidance with compassion and intention. She acknowledges that I’m an adult who ultimately makes her own decisions and never has made me feel otherwise. I could go on and on about how much she has helped me, but I’ll spare you all the time and details and just say that she is the absolute best, and I have all the faith that she is more than equipped to support anyone who comes to her.
Shannon is an excellent counselor. She helped me put my thoughts and concerns in a more logical way where I can feel my emotions yet problem solve/work through the different issues I was experiencing without overwhelming myself.
She is wonderful! I understand that she is in an extraordinary time in her life, and I respect that. She responds relatively quickly and can give me the answers I need. I wish her luck in the world with her family and appreciate the time she can spend with me.
She is awesome , very professional ,ready to listen and understand you. She is very easy to talk to.
Shannon is respectful, kind and punctual with her responses. I’ve enjoyed talking with her for the short time I’ve had her as a counselor.
I started betterhelp as a way for me to cope with my anxiety in an anonymous way that could be done through messages. Luckily, Shannon was available to do only messaging counseling which best fit what I was looking for from a therapist. In the meantime, she absolutely understands my anxiety and asks really insightful questions that allow her to better know me and the way my anxiety works. If you're shy like me and looking for counseling in a stress-free way, I would definitely recommend Shannon.
Shannon has really helped me during my grieving process. I am in a much better place than I was a couple of months ago because of her help and techniques she had given me to help me cope with my emotions.
Shannon is able to guide by listening to what is stated overtly and what is hidden within those statements. This leads to new perspective(s) and the tools necessary for gaining clarity. This epitomizes (for me) the purpose of counseling and Shannon excels at achieving this purpose.
I have loved our interactions. She has been a welcome party to my life!
Shannon is a GEM, y’all! She is the most down to earth caring counselor and I have been so blessed by my time with her over the last year!
Always super helpful and super easy to talk to. :)
I don’t have enough words to describe how amazing Shannon is. She truly saved me! I consider myself the luckiest person ever to have her as my therapist. Shannon is so sweet, caring, understanding and just the best! During sessions she always pays close attention to everything you have to say and let’s you let it all out. I love my sessions with her. She makes sure to do activities and provide therapy that works best with your personality. I wish everyone could have her as a therapist. I have grown so much since I started with her and I am in a much better state all around. I love her!
I received therapy from Shannon a while back, and have seen so much growth and progress in my personal life, so I decided to come back + continue therapy for now. She really knows how to ask the right questions, and is genuine, down to earth, and approachable, making therapy a good and helpful experience!
Shannon is a good listener and gives the best advice, I’m honestly glad and happy she’s my therapist. She’s just amazing!
Shannon has been very helpful in helping me get through a challenging time in my life.
She is amazing and she really takes in to account what you’re going through especially in this climate we are in today. I feel confident that my needs are being met when it’s come down to our session and what we talk about. I really do recommend her expertise when it comes down to her counseling.
Shannon has been the best therapist ever! She is super responsive and genuinely cares about the clients she serves. She is extremely easy to talk to, and I look forward to live sessions each week! In the past, I used to be the type that would tell therapists, teachers, or anyone what I figured they would want to hear. For instance, if challenged me to try a new routine or task, in the past, I would have said I did it and it worked, but with Shannon, I know I can be honest. I love how she listens and empathizes with what I'm going through. It's hard to not question your sanity sometimes, but I always feel validated after sharing with her. I've had many different therapists in my life, and Shannon has been the best by far. God knew what he was doing when He led me to give her a chance. She is one of the most genuine people I know, and I will forever be thankful for her presence in my life! <3
Shannon Cunningham is an amazing therapist. I never feel judged when I talk to her, and I gain some much from the time I spend talking and sharing with her.
Shannon was extremely helpful in a very short period.
I'm so grateful to have Shannon as my therapist. I've only been meeting with her for a few weeks now and I've had so much progress. She's such a sweetheart and truly cares.
Shannon is awesome! She is very understanding and helpful.
The first visit told me all I needed to know. Shannon is a GREAT listener, and sometimes that's what you need. A neutral listener. But she also is good at talking you through your feelings.
Shannon has been great, attentive and willing to help.
Shannon is a great counselor who responds quickly and is very helpful.
Shannon is a kind and compassionate human being. She's helped me out in such a short amount of time and anyone working with her would be in good hands.
Shannon is a beacon of light and support in troubling times. She is an amazing active listener and is always open to hear about your concerns. I have much faith in her ability to conduct effective therapy and keep communication open and focused. I believe she would make a fantastic therapist to anyone seeking this service.
