About Me

Counseling can be a scary prospect, but I am here to make it a safe and comfortable place for you to learn and grow. The most important part of therapy is developing a trusting relationship with your therapist. As your counselor, it is not my job to tell you what to do, instead I will work with you to identify what you decide is the best and healthiest path for you. My approach to therapy is person-centered which means that I work with each client on an individual basis to help them find the best of themselves. I would describe my counseling as a warm and safe environment for clients to explore themselves and their strength.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Indiana. I have been working with a variety of different clients and issues for the last 16 years. I received my Masters degree in Counseling from Ball State University in 2003. I began my career in a residential treatment facility for adolescents and then spent the past 15 years working in a rural outpatient mental health facility. I enjoy working with clients from childhood to adulthood. I have received special training in grief counseling and have a passion for helping people find their new normal while still honoring their loved one. In addition to grief, I have worked with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, and family concerns.

I am excited for you that you have chosen to find someone to help you grow. I would be honored to be that person for you.
