About me

“People start to heal, the moment they are heard.” – Cheryl Richardson.

Greetings! My name is Shannon. I am Licensed Professional Counselor. I have a wealth of experience working in many behavioral health settings such as inpatient psychiatric facilities, health centers, schools, and in-home services. My experience has allowed me the opportunity to work with a variety of populations and address numerous topics. I have worked with Clients to tackle issues related to various forms of abuse, grief/loss, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem, poor coping skills, and trauma.

My therapeutic approach is quite eclectic and varies depending on the needs of my client. I typically implement techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. I pride myself in meeting my Clients where they are at in their lives.

I believe that Clients are the experts of their lives and flourish when they are given non-judgmental support and encouragement from their therapist. I work collaboratively with my clients and use my acquired skill sets to support them with achieving their individual goals.

I look forward to beginning the counseling journey with you!

Shannon Sanders does a great job at listening to everything i'm saying and leads me to conclusions and insights without saying anything. However, when she thinks it is applicable, she will add her insights and direction into the conversation.

2022 was a really rough year for me and Miss Shannon has helped me navigate through it. Talking to her on the phone for our sessions makes me feel safe. She understands my concerns. She gives really good advice. I feel comfortable enough to tell her anything and everything.

Shannon is a good therapist who will listen to you and let you speak your mind. I loved my sessions with her, however, I feel I did phase out of her help whenever my anxiety lessened. When it came down to formulating plans she was good at directing me towards the direction of making a plan, but didn't have helpful recommendations for plans when I didn't have any ideas. Overall, would recommend for those with anxiety who need to/want to speak their mind.

She’s really nice, and extremely easy to talk to, she doesn’t make you feel bad about your opinions, and listens to you
