About me
I believe all people have the ability to change.
You may be seeking help as you are wondering if that statement is really true. Maybe you know it is true and are just not sure how to start. You have come to the right place. I want to be straight forward with you. Though change is possible it should be no surprise, it requires work. I would like to help you on this journey.
I am Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri with over 16 years of experience. I have helped those with emotional or behavioral problems, addictions, mild to severe mental illness, trauma, family problems, and daily life stressors improve the direction of their lives. I have worked in a behavioral health facility, addiction treatment centers, a jail setting and private practice. No matter the problem or the setting I have enjoyed walking people through difficulty to point their lives in a better direction.
I currently own and operate Shepherd’s Touch Counseling. I am a Christian with a strong faith in God. This influences my view on mankind and my desire to show care and compassion for all people.
I look forward to walking with you on your journey to change.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Shannon Simmons. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Shannon listened very well and asked great clarifying questions. He has also done a great job of following up on what we've discussed.
Great job
He is very easy to talk to and has helped me realize I have worth. Helping me to respect myself again.
He is well prepared with notes.
If you're looking for a Christian man who can see the world from both sides but won't bash your head with The Bible Shannon Simmons is the guy for you. Easy to talk to about anything and you can also get spiritual guidance at the same time.....or if you want shut that down and take the worldly view. My mother is an LSCW and and LPC I think (regardless) a therapist and I've danced circles with them, took the meds, played the games. If you want someone that is well worth the time and effort find a way to Shannon.
Shannon keeps things in perspective and gives incredibly sound advice. He replies to journal entries, questions, and scheduling immediately and has referred me to further reading on a variety of subjects that will be helpful. If anyone is having trouble with family relationships, general anxiety, or self-esteem, Shannon's sessions are honest, sincere, and helpful.
I thank God for a therapist who is not only real with me but is always pointing me back to God in my journey. That was really important to me when I wanted to start speaking to someone.
