I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York. I have experience working with adults, adolescents, and children in a community mental health setting. Prior to outpatient community mental health, I also worked in a residential rehabilitation facility for male veterans with PTSD and addictions. Additionally, I have experience working with couples, families, grief, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, trauma, LGBTQ, and stress management.
A core belief and area of focus in my treatment approach is developing a trusting therapeutic relationship where we work together in a holistic manner to work towards your goals. When in therapy with me, you will find consistent support, a judgment-free safe zone, compassion, and empathy. We will together to endure difficult times and adversities as well as embrace and celebrate progress and achievements. I will meet you where you are at and work towards goals that best fit your needs.
A safe, supportive, and communicative environment is what I consider crucial to effective work together. I encourage open communication, especially regarding what your needs are, what works for you, and what doesn't work for you. My counseling style is eclectic and holistic, integrating roots of humanistic therapy with cognitive behavior therapy, trauma-informed therapy, active listening, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused modalities.
I truly value, appreciate, and enjoy each and every individual I work with. I want to take the journey with you, hear your story, and help to create the life you want to live. You will find that I empathize with you every step of the way and will always encourage you, while also validating the struggles you encounter. I believe in the benefits of therapy, having a safe person you can confide in and look to for guidance in overcoming these struggles. If you're at this page, then you are already starting the journey to be where you want to be, and I'd love to be a resource for you in that journey.
