About me

Hi -My name is Sharon Blanchard and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. Since 1995, I have been counseling in K-12 school settings and teaching counseling courses at the graduate level as well as working with individuals through their mental health concerns. I have supported parents as they navigate the demands of parenting challenging children/teens. I have counseled young adults as they embark on a journey into the professional world or new relationship and are conflicted about who they are emotionally and/or spiritually. I also have counseled with middle-age adults as they make some tough life decisions and are seeking guidance in their circumstances. I, too, have been through the counseling process as an adult and it was such a meaningful experience! Most of my experience revolves around depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationships, parenting issues, career counseling, and self-understanding.

Although my experiences and clients are varied, I believe that all adults (and children) do the best they can with what they know. I think it's important to LISTEN and HEAR what you are saying as you share your situation(s) and emotions. I believe that I can help you sift through all of the "junk" and facilitate new revelations that can change your outlook and your life. I am a Christian and we can explore that influence as little or as much as you desire. I want to be whatever you need as you explore and develop a refreshed sense of YOU as you are healing. You are beautifully and wonderfully made and you deserve to live life to the fullest!

I've been a therapist with BetterHelp since 2021 and I'm excited that you are taking the first step to a more peaceful life as you seek support! If you think I could be of help to you, please reach out and let's get started on your journey to healing.

Sharon listens and has suggestion to work on for the week. She usually has some information to share to help too. She is kind, honest, direct / blunt about your situation and what you might be experiencing. Her counsel is helpful and supportive.

Sharon has been my therapist for over a year. She has helped me work through the hardest season of my life. She has given me many tools to help me in my day to day life and has helped give me a sense of control over my life. She is an excellent listener, and an amazing teacher. Im so glad I found Sharon.

Sharon is the best therapist I have ever known… and there have been several! She’s compassionate, offers advice and ideas that have helped me so much! My grief is so strong, I felt I was destined to never feel like myself again! But Sharon has truly helped me work towards acceptance and understanding of my feelings.

I have only been seeing Sharon for a short time, but she has already helped me make serious headway with issues related to marriage, personal experiences, and military-related issues. She has a great attitude and ensures that we cover all bases each meeting.

Sharon is everything I’ve been needing and looking for in a therapist. She listens but at the same time, she also asks the hard questions. Therapy is wonderful, but I needed more than just an ear or shoulder to cry on. I needed someone (like her) who would gently challenge me and ask some very tough questions and explore the why’s and how’s with me and provide solid advice and most importantly…. Hope. She gives me different perspectives that I may not have previously considered — she understands in a way that some others might not. She has been instrumental in helping me navigate my partner’s affair and all the collateral damage that comes with it, and didn’t push me one way or another. She wants ME to heal, independently, regardless of the outcome, which is still undetermined. I cannot recommend Sharon enough — I honestly would be in a completely different place without her support, encouragement and insight. She’s been the light in a very dark tunnel — and I am forever grateful for her. Everyone needs a Sharon in their corner. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I know the work I have to do is nowhere close to being done, but I can see the light. And that makes all the difference.
