My name is Sharron McKee, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been in the profession for over 20 years having worked with all backgrounds and ages. I received my Master's degree from Case Western Reserve University and my Bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University. Being a social worker means meeting your client where he/she is; in other words, I start where you start. My approach to working together is that of a teammate. I feel you (my partner) are the expert on your life and my role is to offer support, encouragement, a positive environment, and that often-needed nudge. In my career, I have addressed life issues such as depression, stress, grief and loss, and trauma with my clients. My treatment approaches are Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I strongly believe in seeing you as a person, not your life challenges. I am here to see you being and becoming the YOU you want to see and become. You've done the difficult part in deciding to get help. Now let's get to work together!
Additional areas of focus: Stress, Anxiety, Family conflicts, Trauma and abuse, Grief, Bipolar disorder, Coping with life changes, Compassion fatigue
Clinical approaches: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing

Sharron has supported me and weeded through some deep rambling to help me Target real issues and set goals. She is exactly the right person for me at this moment. She is understanding, knowledgeable, supportive encouraging and really strives to provide me with tools that help me understand myself and my strengths. I have already recommended better help to several people. Thank you Sharron!!

I have had a few therapist during my journey with mental health so I have a basis of what I like in a therapist. Sharron is great about being responsive to messages and really hones in on what your goals are for therapy. She has been very attentive and respects my likes and dislikes accordingly. I feel safe talking with her which was a surprise for me because I wasn’t sure what to expect when I signed up for BetterHelp. But I’m SO glad I signed up. I would highly recommend Sharron, she’s a phenomenal listener. And her feedback is constructive yet gentle.

I have only met with Sharron twice, but I feel that she is attentive and empathetic, but still challenges me when needed.

Sharon is a very good therapist. She listens well and then asks probing, thought provoking questions.
