About Me

I empower clients to overcome personal obstacles through the use of clinically tested evidenced practices. I am a licensed professional counselor with a concentration in marriage and families. I have worked with children, families, and adults in a variety of settings and have created many outlets to help others gain enrichment. I have a masters degree in community counseling with a concentration in marriage and family therapy. I have also completed additional credits in family life coaching. I offer counseling to address depression, anxiety, independent living, relationships, and parenting.

When working with clients I consider myself like a cheerleader, cheering you on to find your way through the storm. Navigating obstacles in our lives can be very difficult at times however, I offer a fresh perspective with the insight and encouragement you need to power forward. In counseling, I use the cognitive behavioral therapy model to help you organize your thoughts and cast out negative patterns that work against you. I also teach you the importance of self-care and share tips and techniques to expand that practice. Most of all, I offer a listening ear to hear and validate your emotions and thoughts in a situation and help you build a plan to facilitate moving forward. Therapy can be fun, simple, and easy in session with me and I work with you where you stand in this moment.

Extremely patient and allows me to move at my own pace, without pushing.

Shauna has been an absolute pleasure to have as my counselor for the last couple of months. I have had a struggle in the past finding local counselors or therapists who I feel “get” me when it comes to the complexities of who I am and my upbringing which I found here with Shauna. She is a real gem and Better Help is lucky to have people like her onboard.

Shauna is extremely responsive, and I felt she really took time to wade through everything I told her and understand where I was coming from. Her approach is friendly, supportive and effective.

I see Shauna is taking the time to understand what are my primary concerns and tries to ask whether she understood correctly. She also is always make me feel like to slow down and take a deep breath.
