Hello, and thank you for considering me as your therapist. I am Shauna Brown and have been working as a counselor for 12 years. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Arizona , and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I know that it has possibly taken time and courage to get here, however I am thankful you have reached out and taken that step. The idea of counseling can bring up all sorts of thoughts and emotions on top of the issues that you bring to the table. With that said we will work together to ease any discomfort and address issues straight on. I work from a body, mind, and spirit concept assisting you in each of these areas and finding where you can become more balanced in your life. My main approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework addressing ones thoughts and discerning their accuracy on reality and their influence upon ones behaviors in an effort to change unhealthy thought patterns. I also incorporate brief solution therapy, mindfulness and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I have worked with individuals from ages birth through 90 with a variety of issues including but not limited to self-esteem, depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia, parenting and grief and loss. I can also incorporate faith-based Christian principles within your counseling if this is something of interest to you. I am a empathic and straight forward counselor. Please note I am not here to give you advice or answers, I am here to assist and guide you to becoming happier in your life, making tough decisions and growing as a person.
I hope that you find the right match for you, even if that isn't me. Welcome to your new chapter in life.

I was scared to go back to therapy after years of having a bad experience. After I accepted the fact that I needed to try something to get better, I found BetterHelp. I was very happy after my first session with Shauna. Mostly because of the approach she took and the goals she put out for me the first week. I am looking forward to the rest of our sessions and feel really appreciative because I do not feel judged or pressured.
