My counseling style is very engaging as I believe that the client is a huge component in assisting with the healing process in therapy. I believe respect is very important when working with someone and makes the vibes and atmosphere comfortable for everyone. I like to empower my client's and be resourceful when needed. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and mindfulness therapy. I will modify our treatment and approaches to meet your unique and specific needs. Overall, I try to set a safe and non-judgmental environment.

Shavon always does a spectacular job listening to what I have to say & giving me advice to either help myself or to help others in whatever situation I find myself in. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone else I know if they choose to come onto this particular platform.

Shavon was great to work with. She was professional but also put me at ease, and I felt that I could be honest about whatever was going through my head. She helped me figure out my thoughts and emotions and provided very helpful guidelines for dealing with them. Thank you!

I worked with Shavon for four months and she helped me better learn about myself and why I have certain triggers. She helped me correlate my feelings in different situations to things that have happened in the past. We worked together to find ways to help cope with and overcoming my feelings and process what has happened. I am at the best I have been mentally in many years. I am much happier and have become more confident. I can not recommend therapy enough and Shavon has been pivotal in my journey.

Shavon is exactly what I had been looking for but never took time to pursue until now. I have never been to therapy because I never felt like I had any “issues” per se that couldn’t be solved by talking to my parents or would resolve itself. But now in this new stage of my life where I feel like I’m outgrowing my parents counseling and in need of unbiased perspectives, especially on a very touchy subject matter, I finally decided that to get the professional help I had been putting off (due to many stigmatized and personal reasons). Shavon was the PERFECT introduction to therapy! She listened, she offered an unbiased look at the root of my problem, and offered thought provoking questions to help me think a little deeper with no fear and talk it out better than I would by myself. Thank you so much Shavon for making therapy an easy and comforting experience; I look forward to integrating it more in my mental health journey!

I highly recommend her for anyone struggling because I know that she'll be a big help with helping you get through it. Thank you so much Shavon.

I highly recommend Shavon! I was going through a very painful breakup from a long-term relationship. The best thing that happened in my healing and recovery process was being matched with Shavon. I instantly felt comfortable with Shavon. She provides an atmosphere of compassion, care and respect. She is also willing to push me to deal with my breakup in a healthy manner and points out when I start developing unhealthy coping behavior. I feel listened and heard by her. I feel empowered. I feel safe with her. All in all, I can’t think of a better therapist to guide me through this phase of life!

Shavon has been so helpful since I started working with her. I’ve had anxiety for a long time and she takes the time to help me find new coping mechanisms and really listens to what’s going on with me week to week. She checks in with me around things I’ve brought up in therapy a couple weeks ago to see how it’s going, and I really feel heard with Shavon.

Shavon is awesome and very accommodating with scheduling!
It’s difficult for me to talk about things, but it’s a lot easier with her than past therapists I’ve tried.
Also,I feel like my appointments are actually constructive - like I’m not just being listened to; I actually gain insight and always appreciate her feedback/perspective!!!

Shavon is an incredible therapist and I am so grateful to have found her through BetterHelp. I had tried to find a therapist before, but did not have very much luck with someone that was really able to understand what I needed. Shavon has been able to be the support I was looking for and more, I look forward to therapy every week and feel like I am the best version of myself because of our work together.
