About Me
Hello!
I am a Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience working in the State of Wisconsin with both Individuals and Couples. During my career, I have over 10 years experience working with individuals experiencing grief, loss, and end of life concerns. My specialties also include; relationship/family issues, anger management, depression/anxiety issues, and life coaching personal development. I also have experience working with LGTBQ+ clients, as well as First Responder/Law Enforcement groups.
My counseling style is person centered; focused on inclusivity, and compassion. My goal is to help you identify your specific goals and then use a treatment plan to help meet your unique and specific needs. I am professionally trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques. I believe, however, that no one style or technique is good for every person or situation, so I tailor my approach to what works best for you. Our work together is a "judgment free" zone. Regardless of your Age, Gender, Sexual Orientation, or Race, I believe strongly in treating everyone with dignity and respect.
Talking to someone you don't know about personal issues can be very intimidating. It takes courage to seek help to achieve a happier and more fulfilling life. If you are ready to start that journey towards achieving your goals, then I will be there each step of the way to help guide you toward them.
I look forward to working with you!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Shelley Janz. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
She is very kind, respectful, understanding, and helpful. I definitely appreciate her help with my struggles and need for advice. Very thankful to her!
Shelley is very nice and gives wonderful advice that helps me think things in a different perspective
Shelley was quick to offer useful “homework” and advice for my issues. She is easy to talk to and listens.
I have appreciated her so much, it’s been a night and day difference in my mental well-being. I look forward to taking to her weekly cause I know I’m always going to get the help I need!
Shelley is a great counselor. She listens and asks the right questions. Strongly recommended.
From the beginning I felt that my counselor understood what I was going through and was able to support me in a way that was healthy.
Shelley has been extraordinarily helpful thus far in my counseling. She has been very kind, and supportive while working with me!
Shelley is excellent and she has helped me so much. It's like she can see right into my brain and heart and knows exactly what I need.
Shelley didn’t seem to be bogged down with things that had happened in my past. She wanted to know how I felt currently and how we move forward from that. I just felt like she got me
Shelly is an amazing and very professional individual. She respects me and gives me all the tools I need to help myself. Very happy that we matched. Her expertise is very wide and her insight is very enlightening. 10/10.
Shelley’s intuitive and listening nature coupled with practical tools helped me so much! She is very responsive and offered so much clarity and support! Highly recommend!!
I’ve been looking for a councilor that I can connect with for 10 years and only 2 sessions with Shelley I feel a good connection. I’m actually excited for and look forward to every meeting
Shelly is so nice and easy to talk to! She’s so friendly and gave me great advice and tips that really worked for me! Absolutely recommend her!
So far Shelley has responded to me in a timely, professional manner, however, I've only had a few sessions so I feel this evaluation would be more appropriate after several sessions. As a professional person we don't really know much about another person until we have spent considerable time with them. By wanting me to constantly evaluate and sending multiple messages takes away the personal interactions with the counselor and makes it seem impersonal and that others are involved in an experience that should be confidential. I'm talking about BetterHelp in general and not Shelley personally.
