About Me

Too often, we equate caring for our mental and emotional health with weakness and failure - especially when we're taught that our "strength" is based on our ability to handle the stresses of everyday life without "cracking". I've dedicated my career to overcoming this myth by helping individuals develop wellness plans that promote emotional and mental balance, internal peace, and positive coping and communication skills. I am a Florida native and studied at Nova Southeastern University - Orlando regional campus, earning her Masters in Mental Health Counseling in 2016.

I am a strong believer that self-care and laughter are important healing components to daily life stresses. I also believe there is no one way of providing psychotherapy to individuals. My treatment approach utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that transforms patterns of problematic thinking or behaviors thus changing the way you feel in conjunction with other theoretical approaches that are based on my client’s individual needs.

My expertise includes, but not limited to; stress management, substance abuse, mood disorders, grief, anxiety, sexual trauma, physical & emotional abuse, teen dating violence, and LGBTQ & women's issues. I also have experience providing psychoeducation and prevention for individuals within the judicial system. I have also advocated and facilitated; domestic violence and substance abuse curriculums, support groups, juvenile sex offender curriculums, and teen dating violence prevention.

Sherri has been such a blessing! She is an incredibly attentive and sensitive counselor who addresses my needs thoroughly and she isnt afraid to ask those poignant questions to help me get to the bottom of my issues that I'm struggling with. She responds quickly and is always helpful and supportive. I feel like I can share my feelings with her openly without worry and like she is trustworthy. She is knowledgeable about different treatment modalities and she has sent me several very helpful worksheets in the 2.5 weeks that I've worked with her. Overall I'm very impressed by her counseling! She's helping me become a better version of me.

Extremely clear and direct with a casual tone. Helpful and suggestive without being at all pushy. Simply wonderful at what she does. Makes me feel like I being guided to help myself instead of being a passenger along for the ride. Exceptionally helpful!
