About me

“Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t.”

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia with 20+years experience working with individuals and families in a variety of settings addressing issues relating to parenting, parent/child relationships, divorce, grief/loss, marital conflicts, behavior, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, communication, trauma, adjustment/life changes, etc.
I would describe my approach to therapy as eclectic, utilizing a variety of modalities to best serve the needs of my client. The modalities that are proven to be most useful are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Gestalt therapy, Solution-focused therapy, Rational emotive therapy, Dialectical Behavior therapy(DBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
It is my goal to help you to live your most fulfilling life by enabling you to be your true self. You will spend time exploring ways to grow and increase self-acceptance along with discussing the issues that you are dealing with. She very helpful and insightful as to what was going on in my life. Very knowledgeable in wanting the person to be their best and I was never afraid to ask questions when I talked with Sherrie. I enjoyed talking to her as a therapist.
