Sherry Martinez, LCSW
About me
I am licensed in Texas with 20 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, coping with grief and loss, & depression, and LGBTQIA+. I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional; I also have many years experience treating individuals with Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder and Personality Disorders. I changed careers mid-life. When I was in my forties, I realized the work I was in (business management) did not provide the sense of achievement and purpose I was looking for. I returned to school and was able to obtain my Master's in Social Work; underwent two additional years of clinical supervision to achieve my Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked with individuals from all walks of life, from ages 25 to 102, who all had their own unique stories to relate. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Before I started therapy, I was extremely against it. I felt as if no one could understand me and what I’ve been through. Sherry has completely changed my perspective on therapy. She has allowed me to feel safe and heard. Whether I’m struggling with family issues, relationships, or work mishaps, Sherry always gives great advice. A big thank you goes out to my new “best friend” whom has changed my life.
