Sherston Calhoun, LCSW
About me
I have experience as a clinical social worker, working in both the private and public sector, since 1992. I have experience using therapeutic techniques working with adults and minors, in various work settings.
I have worked with, veterans, minors, as well as the elderly, adoptive and homeless populations. I have provided values focused, generalist, eclectic, client centered, self-enriching, strength-based therapy and guidance to clients with relationship issues, parenting issues, trauma history, and anxiety. In therapy, I will enable you to learn about issues you may have been challenged with, develop skills to manage the challenges you may have, and techniques to help you stay focused and promote healthy living. I am more of a generalist practitioner, and am in the habit of using various therapeutic techniques, that compliment maximizing results, on both a short and long term basis. Use of a model of therapy called acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive therapy, behavior focused therapy, solution focused and motivational interviewing, would be employed. Through establishing mutual milestones and goals to accomplish, we can explore and address the underlying causes/challenges of default behaviors, beliefs, and feelings, and together we can begin the process of healing, and/or considering alternative ways to respond to challenges.

Sherston is without a doubt one of the best this platform has to offer. She helped me work through issues i've had and come up with coping strategies for my burnout from work and was completely attentive and encouraging throughout my time in therapy. Very responsive and quick with any help needed. She is a blessing for this platform and I would highly recommend her to anyone. Thank you Sherston!

I like that she is very professional. There's closeness without being detached, yet there is also that professionalism. She listens to me, and tells me when I'm doing "stink thinking". It's really helping so far.
She asks really powerful questions about why I think things. It's been great
