Dr. Shinah Russell
About me
Life comes with seasons of mountains and valleys that bring about challenges in one’s ability to cope and adapt. It’s during these times when one will need the appropriate tools to face, adjust, and move through the cycles of life. My goal is to provide a warm and safe environment for one to explore, process, and learn the skills needed to move with confidence through the transitions of life. Together we will work to set and achieve therapy goals.
My specialty is working with children, adolescents, young adults, women, and families. I have a deep passion to work with these populations on this journey of life. My primary approach is cognitive behavior and solution focused therapy. Clients are supported in a non-judgmental environment to explore their thoughts, feelings, actions, and develop solutions to empower one to live their best life.
My education and training consist of a Doctorate of Education degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from Argosy University, Masters of Education in Counselor Education from Florida A&M University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Florida A&M University. I have over 10 years of experience as a Counselor.
By building relationships, I work with clients to create and implement therapeutic goals. I believe teamwork is a powerful tool in the counseling relationship. I recognize the importance of maximizing each client’s potential to help them develop solutions to their problems. Contact me if you are ready to work towards living your best life!
